Metaphors within metaphors....perhaps Michael Myers is a metaphor for the brother Laurie lost? :halloween:

silliness ensues

just watched tusk....hmmmm....well first off the cast, justin long puts in his usual performance but why haley joel osment even bothered is beyond me, very poor, micheal parks and johnny depp are their usual mad over the top selves and steal the show, especially parks who i think is much over looked.

now the film itself, it starts steady enough and has a sense of foreboding once long enters parks house, it builds a little and then theres the bloody walrus suit and thats when it gets beyond silly for me and it lost me.

is it worth watching, for parks and depp alone id say yes, apart from them its very average.

Asami is amazing in this. This movie has one of the most sickly creepy bad guy put on film. Eww.

I LOVE Gun Woman!!! What an awesome story and epic gore. And yes, I completely agree about the super gross villain-guy. Super gross.

Tusk (2014)

I was thinking the actor playing that French detective was very much acting like Johnny Depp! Damn! I failed to recognize him! Anyway, agree with Angra...quite a sad movie indeed.
When the credit was rolling, it just came to my mind...how about Kevin Smith team up with Tom Six and produce a crossover short flick...The Tusk Centipede!?!

Hope to see the Gun Woman^^ soon, bought the dvd couple of weeks back but somehow forget about it :danger:

If Tom Six and Kevin Smith co-directed a movie together, that would be disturbing on a number of levels, but I would definitely watch it.

Animal 2014

6/10. Another run-o-the-mill monster-movie. I generally enjoy monster movies. As soon as the cliche group of young-adults arrive at their campsite, I get all excited and start guessing which one will be decapitated or die during sex. However, this one was nothing to write home about. Very derivative and boring. It felt like a hundred movies I've seen before and had no special quality at all. I will say, that the creature effects were not bad.

Among Friends 2012

5/10. I was pumped for this and sadly let down. "Scream Queen" Danielle Harris' director debut about a group of people attending an 80's theme murder-mystery dinner party that goes awry. I thought the concept was fantastic, but terribly executed. All of the great ideas were there and it had a LOT of potential.. but it just fell completely flat. And the ending! How terrible. I think maybe she was overwhelmed with deadlines and didn't know how to finish up the story or something. What a mess. I must give her some credit for the cool concept and the intriguing direction she was going.. but must also shake my head for the complete mess she made of something that could have been spectacular.
