Got a day-off on our National Victory Day this time...:)
George A. Romero's The Crazies (1973) May be it's low budget but a terrific paranoid thriller by Romero & somewhat in a similar vein to his Dead series. Surely he proves to be the master of portraying any chaotic & quarantine situation on celluloid. >>: B+ Murderous Intent aka Like Minds (2006) A forensic psychologist is appointed by police to determine whether there's enough evidence to file murder charges against a 16-year-old boy accused in the shotgun death of a school mate. A decent Aussie mystery thriller. >>: B Chicken Run (2000) I'm just wondering how come I haven't seen this before!?! An Eggselant blast! >>: A Dario Argento's Sleepless (2001) A pretty good Giallo. >>: B Slayer (2006) A silly time passing made for TV Vampire flick. Not too bad, some funny elements & nice fights here & there. >>: C+

In Bruges (2008). Not expecting much, i was more than pleasantly surprised by this flick. Appropriately slow at the get go, the initial pace allowed for not only great character development, but also reveals the perfectly unbalanced relationship of our two protags. Dark humor coupled with some drama and ultimately some well received violence, this poetic flick ends in a wonderfully ironic fashion. The acting was solid, the story well crafted, and the use of the wonderful scenery in Bruges was well received. Ashe.

Fantastic. Highly recommended to Fortunato, Return, Alky and everyone else who loves Bunuel. If you havent seen this, you have done yourself a huge favor. Don't bother.
