My last seen was 28 Weeks Later. I'm pretty behind, I know. But luckily I signed up for Netflix last month (and am open to any suggestions). I thought it was done well, I mean, I almost vomited once or twice, but still. I don't know why I have trouble with gore now, I never did before. Maybe I'm getting old:rolleyes: Anyway. It seemed like it's going into a trilogy....?

The Deer Hunter,
screw all the other 'Nam movies, this one is the ultimate. The first russian roulette scenes were the most intense portrayal of Vietnam I have ever seen on film. intensely powerful movie. City Of Men pretty lame when compared to City Of God, didn't sit through the whole thing. Slumdog Millionaire damn good movie, however didn't quite live up to all the hype. Heat saw it a long time ago, I didn't follow it, I was really too young to catch on, watching it again was a really good idea, because its freakin' awesome, what a cast. |

Amazing film, definitely, but I've always found Apocalypse Now to be much more powerful and disturbing personally. The intensity and portrayal of complete chaos and insanity in Apocalypse just always stays with me. There are few movies that actually frighten me, but just thinking of what it must have been like in that situation, on the river in the heart of Vietnam, is really terrifying.
