I do want to speak up for The Haunting (original)...I'm one of those people that loved it. Psychological, character-driven horror. Didn't care for the remake, it had too many effects popping up without reasons to pop up, and it added all kinds of weird stuff to the story for no reason.

Well I have a job and most dvd's cost like 10 bucks used so.. It doesn't cost all that much.

I was going to ask about The Omen. I saw the first one and loved it, I would probably get the entire series. I think I will actually. Hmmm..

And yes, zombie movies are horror, I just seperated them anyway.

I've heard alot of mixed stuff on Cemetary Man.. what's so great about it?

Re: I need some recommendations/reviews

HORROR:
House of 1000 Corpses - Good to have (doesnt have much replay value)

Evil Dead 1 - Must have
Evil Dead 2 - Must have
(both on principle alone)

Army Of Darkness - My favorite out of all 3(yes i said it)

Hellraiser
(They are all good in my opinion - none as good as the first, but they all have their moments) good for late night viewings.

The Devils Rejects - Mind blowingly amazing(thats why you should get 1, cause 1 is nowhere near as amazing as this...but it kinda sets up the unexpected glory that is this move

Pet Sematary - Meh, i like 2 better

Session 9 - dunno

Prince Of Darkness - AWESOME

Candyman - stupid

The Hills Have Eyes - Hit or miss

Exorcism of Emily Rose - mildly interesting - worth a rent

The Haunting - Must have classic

Demons - fun
Demons 2 - fun

Cannibal Holocaust - good for testing out your gore handling capabilities

Day Of The Dead - amazing

Land Of The Dead - fun

The Return Of The Living Dead (1985)
Awesomely fun

Dead Alive - AMAZING!

Zombie (AKA Zombie 2)
A little boring, but has its totally kicka ss moments (PLUS the zombies are totally different frmo your standard romero)

Dead and Breakfast - One of the best movies ive seen in a long time

Shaun Of The Dead -Fucking Fantastic

terrific 'thinking man's' Italian Zombie film.
(english lead actor Rupert Evert - the rest of the cast is italian)

I say 'thinking mans' zombie film because it is so stylish it makes you think it's smarter than it is ... it pulls it off really well ..

it starts simply ..

a man lives (!) and works in a cemetary with his hulking 'igor-like' assistant. His job is to kill the dead after they come back to life .. which they do in this particular cemetary for no given reason ...

it gets weird from there ....
