5 PM your time is 2:30 AM my time, and 8 PM is 5:30 AM here. I am sound asleep then.

Too bad about the time differences, else I would have loved to join into the Werewolves week.

One lesser known werewolf movie that's well worth a watch is The Company of Wolves, a retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood folktale.

It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I remember liking it. Hmm, I may have to revisit it for Halloween.

I am very sorry you did not enjoy it. In my opinion, it has aged quite well. Honestly, I enjoyed it even more than the immensly popular (yet still good) An American Werewolf in London. After the Wolf Man (1941), I would actually say it was my favorite werewolf movie.

The Howling used to be my favorite werewolf movie.....until I saw Dog Soldiers. Now it's my second favorite. I agree, I think it's aged quite well.

I'm up for seeing Hard Candy (for the first time). I should be able to make it.

It's been a look time since I saw Dr Pepper making it. I might be up for that.

I just saw Lon a month ago.

A Company of Wolves and The Howling are at the those opposite ends, so to speak. Both excellent and with flaws. Company is a fairy tale, and Howling is at it's best when it does the hardcore reality horror; highlighted by the opening scene, (handheld camera feel) the daring reporter's secret meeting with the deranged offender), and the scenes in the 'temporary' morgue. To me, it falters when it tries to incorporate fairy tale feel and scenes, into the ultra reality. Once they get to the 'camp', they milk the material a little too long, or keep it too shallow. It's a good horror film if you're feeling jumpy and on edge from realworld dangers.

Company is basically all fairytale, very nice cinematography. Nitpicking... only complaint is the story content is enough for about 60 mins. If they were determined to go 90 mins, they needed to add story content &/or depth.
