I liked "Werewolf of London" a lot. David Naughton was great in that.
No, I'm just kidding. It's a great film. It even has giant carnivorous plants in it, I think it's the only werewolf film that does. There is a very, very clever walking transformation scene created by John Fulton and Jack Pierce, very smooth, very nice. I don't think anyone else did one quite like it. Usually this sort of thing is done with cuts, and they went the extra mile to composite a separate element of the pillars going by.

The Wolf Man is probably my favorite classic movie, but I too really enjoyed Werewolf of London. I first saw it a few years ago on Turner Classic Movies around Halloween (like so many other classics I might add, TCM rules!).

Boris Karloff is an amazing actor and definatly one of my favorites. all the frankienstien movies are to be remembered as true classics. I am personally a great fan of almost all black and white movies. even arsnic and old lace which has both Boris Karloff and Carrey Grant in it.

I hate to say it, but I'm not crazy about Colin Clive, although his acting did get better in bride. But, my props go out to Elsa Lanchester for a few all too short minutes of excellence and to Ernest Thesiger. Praetorius makes the movie much more interesting as a kind of personification of Henry's evil. He contrasts Henry's misguided science with outright black magic in the scenes with the tiny people he's created and is surprisingly subtle in his manipulating the monster. The addition of this character and the portrayal alike were fantastic. I have Bride and aren't too crazy about most of the Frankenstein, except of course for Karloff. Do you think the Frankenstein collection would be a worthwhile purchase, then? I have seen neither Son nor Ghost of Frankenstein. I'm kind of curious with the legacy collections having been brought up in earlier posts and being very fond of the Wolfman and Creature from the Black Lagoon ones I have.

As far as the Frankenstein movies are concerned, the first two are definately the best, but that doesn't mean that the others aren't worth seeing. The Legacy Collections are also quite reasonably priced, given what you are getting in them.
