all right, I've read it a couple of times and really like it. It conjures a great mood and tells a sharp, quick story.

but something's bugging me.

I should like it more. the elements are great and the narritive is well paced, but I think the story needs a more specific narrator. the guide, the curious traveler, someone searching for his remains?

the story sounds like folklore and I think it would benefit with being told as folklore. Just my thoughts, it's definitely good if it's got my wheels spinning like this...
