Septien (2011)
A truly bizarre, dreamlike, and pretty funny story of three reunited brothers dealing with repression in various forms, portrayed as a kind of spiritual evil. It wasn't hard to get pulled in, taking on the twisted psuedo-naturalism and pace of
Gummo, and feeling like an American Southern Gothic novel (which director Michael Tully cites as an influence). It's streaming on Netflix, and I'd at least recommend checking it out for anyone interested in ambitious independent cinema.
