Dead Of Night (1945)
UK horror anthology film that set the benchmark for the later Amicus films to build on. Amazing to think that horror films were all banned in the UK at the time due to the war.The individual stories were directed by Alberto Cavalcanti, Charles Crichton, Basil Dearden and Robert Hamer. The whole feel is that of a reoccuring nightmare but the different stories and linking theme still hold up really well. Essential for horror anthology fans.
