As I've said before, superhero sequels are almost always better than the original. (The Dark Knight, Spiderman 2, Hellboy 2, Batman Returns, Superman 2). Hellraiser 2 is much better than the first one in several ways. Bride of Frankenstein is head and shoudlers above Frankenstein, and some of Hammer's later Draculas were far superior to Horror of Dracula. As campy fun, I think Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and 4 are pretty good, in spite of trading fantasy for horror much of the time. But, pound for pound the best example of a sequel outdoing the first entry in a series? The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
