i thought he proved himself WITH poltergeist !
i'm not a fan of it but it was his biggest commercial success (kiss of death for the hard core horror fan i guess)
his Invaders from Mars was brilliant - a ton of fun .. great performances - James Karen is the best ! You could tell the whole cast was devoted to the spirit of the film ..
and it was suprisingly faithful to the origional ..
