I think Ginger Snaps is one of my favorite movies for this time of year. The story was great, had a nice dark yet funny tone to the movie through out. just the perfect amount of gore, and as stated rather than just go all out with the concept, they choose to pace the story around trying to hide and figure out how to save ginger.
I also love the sequals, although part three confused me at first seeing as they both were back in civial war era, but it was good too.
