Photo editing. Art or not?
 

What do you guys think? Do you think using photoshop to manipulate photographs is art or not?

To me....it is art. Since modern art seems to be rehashing of original works.

Well, I think before someone can say it isn't art, they would first have to define what art is. Also, what may be art to one person, isn't art to another... so art is personal and can't be an absolute. Ya know? I think it is art myself. If you take pics with your cam, manip them on a computer... thats like mixing paints and putting it on canvas... the medium doesn't matter. ;)

I think it depends what you do with it. I've been usuing photoshop for the past 7 years. If you copy something then add your name to the bottom or lets say manipulate someone's eyes from green to blue...no i don't think it is, but thats only my opinion.

I have seen some realy neat pictures that have been manipulated.I consider them art.

its art. I do it all the time.

I would say it is becuase, after all, art is anything offering a message...
