SECTOR 7 ...Korean creature feature. Also known as Mining Area 7, it's directed and produced by Kim Ji-hoon, the pic will be 3-D and is about a mutated creature who runs amok in an oil prospecting ship.

Openly admitting inspiration by James Cameron's Aliens and the Alien films. (keep an ear open for that very popular "Mother interlude" which we all love in Alien)

Quote:

"The film actually even dates back to 1985 where a worker goes missing at an underwater oil base. It flashes to present day where the protagonist is the daughter of the missing worker, and now working as a marine equipment manager on an old oil prospecting ship called Eclipse. After 3 weeks of preparation the new recruit sinks to the bottom of the sea when the equipment fails. Evidence suggests that it was not an accident and points at one of the crew as a saboteur. Crew members begin to turn up dead - one by one - their bodies viciously mutilated. To make matters worse, the ship is isolated in a typhoon. It is soon revealed that they're all about to become food for a transparent underwater creature."

DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ...second and more comprehensive trailer, released for the UK. Produced by Guillermo Del Toro, remake of the 70s made-for-TV film.

Quote:

"The pic follows Sally (Bailee Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. Having stumbled upon the mansion’s hidden basement, Sally starts hearing voices calling out from the bolted ash pit, imploring her to open it. Sally obliges and unwittingly unleashes something so terrible, so unthinkable, that everyone’s life – hers most of all - is placed in immediate and grave danger."

David Cronenverg's A Dangerous Method...A look at how the intense relationship between Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud gives birth to psychoanalysis.

Adapted by Academy Award-winning writer Christopher Hampton from his 2002 stage play The Talking Cure, itself based on the 1993 non-fiction book by John Kerr, A Most Dangerous Method is an upcoming historical film, directed by David Cronenberg.

The film stars rising star Michael Fassbender (Eden Lake, Inglorious Basterds, Centurion & X-MEN: First Class) as Carl Jung and Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises & The Road) as Sigmund Freud. Set on the eve of the World War I, Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method tracks the early years of psychoanalysis though the story seems particularly focused on Jung's relationship with one of his patients, a troubled woman played by Keira Knightley.

Universal Pictures will release the film in German-speaking territories, while Lionsgate took rights to the United Kingdom. Sony Pictures Classics announced that they will be distributing A Dangerous Method in the United States and it seems they will likely release this later in the year with an awards push. The film is also scheduled for a European release in late 2011 after its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.

From the director of "The Joy Luck Club," Wayne Wang, and inspired by the bestselling novel Snow Flower And The Secret Fan by Lisa See, this film is a timeless portrait of female friendship. In a parallel story in present day Shanghai, the laotong's descendants, Nina and Sophia, struggle to maintain the intimacy of their own childhood friendship in the face of demanding careers, complicated love lives, and a relentlessly evolving Shanghai. Drawing on the lessons of the past, the two modern women must understand the story of their ancestral connection, hidden from them in the folds of the antique white silk fan, or risk losing one another forever. In the new film, Andrew Garfield's Parker is no doubt weak, and he's bitten by a spider, it comes during a visit to see his crush, Emma Stone's Gwen Stacey, who is working at the lab.

The lab, by the way, is run by one Rhys Ifans, the man who will later become the villain, The Lizard.
