I just went to his video and thanked him for his spam. I hope he knows how much we need more spam.

I thought this is a forum with freedom of speech where I could share a short film I made? Guess not. After all the subforum says Short Films.

If I had thought it was spam, I would have deleted it. You put your thread in the correct forum, you are promoting your film, that's why I left it here.

People are allowed to promote their short/independent films.

I didn't think it was spam. I was just saying hello and hoping the poster would engage a bit before asking us to watch his work. I always leave that post for folks who want us to see their stuff. It's a personal thing I guess. I wouldn't come and drop my link without at least saying hey first. To each their own though, and as Hammer states, the link is in the right place. Can't fault someone for promoting their creations, I've just gone about it in a different way when I've been in this persons shoes. As I said, it's just a personal choice.

So, I ask our short film producing friend again, how do you like the forum?

What bother's me about it is people come to link us to their youtube videos and do not participate otherwise. They're not interested in participating. To me it is a commercial so they can get more attention, possibly to get money from their videos. Doing so it not a bad thing, but I don't want to see a commercial. If the person stays in the community and participates then its fantastic they're offering their stuff. But if its just a post with link, saying "Watch my stuff! Watch my stuff! Watch my stuff!" and they never come back or pay attention to responses its a commercial.

Chris Morey has been pimping his books here for years, and does not participate in the forums. I'm not going to start telling people they can't promote their stuff.

We have forums for independent/short films, art, music, and literature. Everyone is free to promote their craft.

tbh, up untill now I've had much pleasure reading on this forum. It's not because I don't post as much as you guys I don't enjoy spending time on this forum. I'm as much a fan of horror as you all.
I've been lurking around for years as a guest and I did not know I am supposed to post a certain amount of content in order to promote my stuff.
Since this subforum is intended to promote Indie and short horror films I was just doing that tbh. It might come of as shameless promo though.
And no, I do not earn money with your clicks. Not yet at least! :p
What's wrong with being ambitious and promoting your stuff?
I do check up on responses since I appreciate feedback and constructive criticism.
Anyway thank you all for taking the time to read this thread and to watch my short film.
