The Bone Yard and other collections

If you like horror mixed with other genres, like dark suspense and science fiction, you might enjoy reading the stories in The Bone Yard and Other Stories. It contains fifteen horror stories, including Monsters, which first appeared in the anthology Hideous Progeny. That had an introduction by Kim Newman.

You can find out more about my stories on my website at www.mybookspage.wordpress.com, where there is a sample from the title story and details of their publishing history.

I’ve also published a second collection of eleven stories called Bloodways. Two appeared in Peeping Tom, the fanzine of the British Fantasy Society. Both stories were revised and updated before republishing.

Journal of the Living: A Zombie Apocalypse story

I've just created a new horror blog that will be like a 'choose your own adventure' story about a survivor of the zombie apocalypse. It's at www.journaloftheliving.wordpress.com.

Some of the main character's blog entries will feature a poll where he asks for advice. You can vote on what he should do next until the following entry in his journal is published, with the majority vote influencing the way his story continues. This story will only work if people vote on his decisions - so I hope you will vote before the first undeadline.::smile::

Ben Smith's survival tale of life after the zombie apocalypse can be read at https://www.goodreads.com/story/show...-of-the-living, where I have posted the first eight chapters/13,000 words.

The story's first entry is at http://journaloftheliving.wordpress....iving-entry-1/ for anyone wanting to read it from the beginning.

This week the twelfth entry of Journal of the Living has a poll closing on June 1st.

I hope new readers will want to join in the voting. It will make it more fun for me, as the writer, if readers participate.

The story can be read from the beginning via this link to the first entry here or this one to the first eight chapters here.

Journal of the Living’s Facebook page is here.

The twelfth entry is here.

A Hunter's Tale

My story A Hunter’s Tale is among the December winners of a short story competition run by Michael Brookes: http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/20...t-winners.html

I’d just like to say it is always worth entering free competitions – even when you don’t win. I recently turned a comp entry into a 6500-word horror story now in a charity anthology called Ten Deadly Tales. All proceeds go to the Derian House children’s hospital.

Ten Deadly Tales

Journal of the Living (zombie apocalypse web novel) is up to part 27:
