What's your thoughts on Godzilla King of the Monsters (2019)?

It's received mixed reviews, and performing below projections at the boxoffice. "As of July 3, 2019, Godzilla: King of the Monsters has grossed $107.1 million in the United States and Canada, and $280.8 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $387.9 million.[2][4] The film had a production budget of $170–200 million,[143][3] and an additional $100–150 million were spent on marketing.[144] It is estimated the film will need to gross $550–600 million in order to break-even.[145]"

I thought it was visually stunning with some interesting concepts, but the story theme was not fleshed out, nor integrated into the lives of the characters, nor integrated into all the action. The motivations of the main character, Dr. Emma Russell, played by Vera Farmiga, were stated, but was still essentially baffling.

I liked it; especially the other monsters. Ghidora was awesome looking! So was Rodan & Mothra.

Awesome special effects, great monster fights. Not much in the way of human story, but I'm still a Godzilla fan from way back, so I loved it.
