The Blair Witch Project

I think "The Blair Witch Project" is one of the best indie horror movies ever made. Very creepy! You don't need gore/body count to make a truely scary movie. The ending was just.........Wow.

Ack, again with the remake threads. *arrgh*

Oh but wait, she put me on ignore for saying "wow..." in her Saw 3 thread... awwwwwww hah!

There's a bunch of other threads, but I cant be bothered to bring them up for you.

Agreed, this is a phenominal movie. One of my all-time favourites.

Not a bad movie but not a good one either
sorry I guess I'm not a fan of the purposely poor movies out there. If its badly made because you don't know any better that's a whole nother matter.

You're saying the film was made purposefully bad, but you're missing that it was made to represent the raw video footage from a crew of young amateurs.

In this sense, the achievement is to emulate how this rough film might appear and sound.

It succeeds magnificently. Following the usual cinematic codes to produce endless clones of bogeymen and vampire movies is textbook and uninteresting - getting the right blend of cinema verite but managing to sustain audience interest though subtle visual and aural manipulation is very difficult indeed.

It scared the hell out of me.
It also made me a little queasy.
All the jumping and shaking.

Indeed i thought it was outstanding. A lot of people hate the ending. Myself, I think it was perhaps one of the greatest endings in a movie that I've seen in a long time.

Not to mention the marketing. If there was an Oscar award for marketing, these guys would have made a killing. Oh wait, they did make a killing. Box Office glory.

I concur.

i find it only scary if you watch it once. then it's all just gone, given that the directors even exposed it and admitted it isn't real due to the bizarre sequel.
