Sint

Quote:

It’s December 5th: time for the Saint Nicolas festivities to commence in earnest. Student Frank and friends prepare to party dressed up as the legendary Saint and his little helpers the Black Peters. But the real centuries old Saint Nick was a sadistic killer, a rogue bishop-turned-pirate, No one believes the fable but then a medieval schooner is spotted sailing towards Amsterdam harbor and a sudden wave of shocking murders begins…
Kalevet aka Rabiesl...A Horror film from Israel!

Quote:

Are you ready for the first Israeli slasher movie? A runaway adult brother and sister stumble into a trap set by a psycho killer in. His sister buried in the ground, the injured brother sets out to get help. What he finds instead is a group of sex-mad teenagers, two sleazy policemen and a forest ranger and his dog. Making great use of collective expectations of where a body count movie is supposed to go, and then not going there, this is as much a fresh vision of fright as a nuanced social and political commentary on Israel today.

SNOW FLOWER AND THE SECRET FAN ...based on the bestselling book.

Quote:

From the director of "The Joy Luck Club," Wayne Wang, and inspired by the bestselling novel Snow Flower And The Secret Fan by Lisa See, this film is a timeless portrait of female friendship. In 19th-century China, seven-year-old girls Snow Flower and Lily are matched as laotong, or "old sames" bound together for eternity. Isolated by their families, they furtively communicate by taking turns writing in a secret language--nu shu--between the folds of a white silk fan. In a parallel story in present day Shanghai, the laotong's descendants, Nina and Sophia, struggle to maintain the intimacy of their own childhood friendship in the face of demanding careers, complicated love lives, and a relentlessly evolving Shanghai. Drawing on the lessons of the past, the two modern women must understand the story of their ancestral connection, hidden from them in the folds of the antique white silk fan, or risk losing one another forever. What unfolds are two stories, generations apart, but everlasting in their universal notion of love, hope and friendship.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ...first teaser trailer.

Quote:

The first teaser trailer for the Marc Webb-directed film, "The Amazing Spider-Man" has hit the web, promising a bit of a change in origin story for the legendary webslinger. In the comics, and the Sam Raimi-directed, Tobey Maguire-starring films, Peter Parker is a nerdy weakling who gets endowed with incredible powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider during a class field trip to a science lab. In the new film, Andrew Garfield's Parker is no doubt weak, and he's bitten by a spider, it comes during a visit to see his crush, Emma Stone's Gwen Stacey, who is working at the lab.

The lab, by the way, is run by one Rhys Ifans, the man who will later become the villain, The Lizard.

The film hits theaters on July 3rd, 2012.

KILL LIST ...looks pretty promising.

Quote:

It’s a domestic drama, blended with a hitman thriller, mixed with a pastoral horror flick, that’s not really like anything you’ve ever seen, and its basically guaranteed to leave you shaking for hours after.

RABBIT HORROR 3D ...a collaboration between “The Grudge” director Takashi Shimizu and brilliant, barking mad DP Christopher Doyle (who co-directs).

Quote:

The plot seems to revolve around a child who kills a rabbit, leading a girl in a giant rabbit suit to stalk and kill various people. It looks gorier and more disturbing than that plot might suggest.
