MKX: Leatherface Love

Mortal Kombat X (abbreviated 'MKX') is a fighting video game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the tenth main installment in the Mortal Kombat video game series and was released on April 14, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Like previous Mortal Kombat games, Mortal Kombat X's gameplay consists of two players, or one player and the CPU, fighting against each other with their selected character, using a large, varied array of character specific attacks. The game contains several modes, such as a story mode, which takes place twenty years after the previous Mortal Kombat game, several 'Tower' modes, which feature dynamically changing challenges, numerous online modes, and the 'Krypt', a mode played in a first-person perspective where players explore the areas unlocking a variety of in-game items (source of information from top: Wikipedia).

Special purchasable MKX packs allow players to choose Leatherface as a warrior-avatar.

Leatherface is a chainsaw-wielding psycho we know from the iconic Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror films made in the USA.

Why anyone would want to use a bizarre and gruesome monster such as Leatherface as a playable avatar is part of the eccentric appeal of the creative, graphic, and offbeat MKX.

Remember folks that a chainsaw is used to rip down trees and is a devastating but very useful forestry tool. Leatherface, on the other hand, seems to think a chainsaw is the Devil's toy and uses it liberally to create all kinds of mayhem.

The Mortal Kombat video game franchise invites players to explore a fantastic realm filled with martial arts and brutality-combat fantastic characters/avatars, and MKX is a great achievement in 'realm-fantasy' fighting gameplay and is a special nod to the 'might' of Leatherface.

MKX is a great Christmas 2016 purchase for your video game loving kid, and if you provide the right dose of parental guidance, your kid will appreciate the 'horror thrill' of being able to use Leatherface as a war Golem.

The appearance of Leatherface in MKX has fans talking about intriguing fantasy-realm horror/comics crossovers.

We've seen a Batman vs. Predator comic book issue, and we could potentially see a Batman vs. Leatherface comic book release.

After all, Batman (DC Comics) is a 'dark knight' who tackles villains who are eerily criminally insane, and Leatherface is, if anything, a pure maniac.

Batman's strange and wonderful belt-strapped weapons are a nice *fit* for Leatherface's menacing chainsaw (and mini-sledgehammer).

in MKX, we see Leatherface matched with the likes of Scorpion and Sonya Blade, so we could see how this imaginative MKX presentation of Leatherface would inspire artists to cook up some nifty Batman-Leatherface vigilantism storylines (for comic books) and perhaps for video games.
