I was actually at the 2004 Sundance film festival, and watched this corker of a movie. Alarm bells were ringing in my head when they announced the director had left the festival early:

What didn't you like about I Spit On Your Grave? Also, which one are you talking about, the original or remake?

I probably hate those more then the others mainly because of how much hype they got and how much people love them especially oldboy. I dont understand why people rave about that movie so much. It was disgusting, stupid, pointless, over the top and annoying. There was nothing good about it at all.

I'm not the kind of person who's going to like a movie because of special effects. In fact i will usually dislike a movie because of special effects. I go to see movies for a good entertaining story, not a light show.

I liked the story in Avatar too....when i watched Pocahontas and Dances with Wolves.

Yes i liked Star Wars but not the prequels. The effects worked in the originals and had a good story but the prequels were a perfect example of all effects and a shit story.

TheWickerFan 08-24-2011 11:24 AM

I really liked Oldboy, although the two exceptionally violent scenes in it probably added nothing to the story and probably put some people off who might otherwise have watched it.

@AB - Kill Bill Vol. 2?!:eek:

@AB - Kill Bill Vol. 2?!:eek:

It's not the violence i had a problem with. It was
SPOILERS The incest and the way that the main character acted when he found out. That was the dumbest most ridiculous over the top thing i have ever seen. Also the bad guy created an insanely elaborate revenge plot all because the main character told his friend something he saw? That's it? Gossip caused him to lock a man up for 15 years and then hypnotize and trick him into having sex with his own daughter all because he himself was a disgusting incestual weirdo himself? How can anyone not think that's stupid

But anyway people are allowed to like whatever they want, i just dont get that one because it gets a lot of praise.

Also like what Wicker said, what's wrong with you AB? Kill Bill 2 was awesome!

leezuki 08-24-2011 11:46 AM

the first part was good 2nd one was dreary, there was no need to make it a two part movie i think it should have been just one movie.

TheWickerFan 08-24-2011 11:47 AM

I see where you're coming from, but the over-the-top aspects didn't bother me.

I probably preferred the first one, but I loved the second one and felt it was very necessary to have two films. There was a lot to tell, and I don't think it dragged at all.

Well the way i looked at it was, the first one was all fast paced action and the second one slowed it down a bit and made it more about the story and the drama which i liked because it meant more when she faced off against Bill. It became more then just a generic revenge action movie. In the end i probably like them both the same.

leezuki 08-24-2011 12:43 PM

i hated the new nightmare on elm st

i am not a fan of the original, but i much preferred the original over this.

Excluding remakes that aren't worth even publicising as awful films:-

The Brotherhood 3
The Last Lovecraft-Relic Of Cthulhu
Martyrs
Final Terror
The Final
Halloween 5
A Nightmare On Elm Street 5
The Silence
Night Of The Damned.

Kill Bill vol. 2 had it's moments. But too slow and boring imo, and it doesn't make it better that I don't like the "book/chapter"-style and sprinkling blood used in it.

1st one isn't that great neither, but better than the 2nd.

Don't worry as much as I despise it I still like the beginning of the film-there are other people who love it though so you're not alone.
