I didn't see a thread for this, so why not make this my first thread :) Did anyone see this on SYFY Channel or when it premiered at Fantastic Fest in September?

IMO, this was one of the best remakes today. Director Danishka Esterhazy did something very smart with this one. She not only paid homage to the original with some establishing shots, but added a few props that paid homage to the first two films of the franchise and if that's not enough, they flipped the script on certain tropes we're used to in horror and the third act is actually pretty shocking as well.

If you have seen it, I did a podcast episode with two of the actors, Michael Lawrence Potter and the new Driller Killer himself, Rob Van Vuuren, as we talked about the film.

Found out today the film will get its Blu-Ray/DVD release on February 1, 2022.

The extras include commentary by director Danishka Esterhazy and an alternate ending.

The film won Best Production Design and Best Make Up FX at the South African Horrorfest Awards. The judges include former Fangoria editor Tony Timpone, legendary horror writer and podcast host Mick Garris, and the awesome Jen and Sylvia Soska.
