Six friends who are fairly insane, male, and in their 20s get together to sing karaoke and act in a fairly fucked up manner. One of them decides he wants to know what its like to kill someone. So he kills a woman, who happens to be part of the Midori society. The Midori society is a group of average women all with the last named Mirodri and in their 30s who get together to sing Karaoke at a karaoke club. The conflict escalates.

Decent. Fun. Worth a read. 5.5/10

at first i didn’t really care for his voice. a bit verbose, almost anti-seductive. but i think he really loses himself & goes somewhere (conceptually) that another style wouldn’t really reach. so that imagination is the main appeal for me.

I'm a bit new around here, so I'm not sure how familiar you are with Ligotti. I haven't Noctuary, but I was able to get a compilation called Shadow at the Bottom of the World years ago. I liked his stories. If you haven't read him, he is far different than anyone else out there (sorry if you have read him and I'm being redundant). People want to compare him to Lovecraft, but I think the two are wholly different.

Ligotti didn't click for me at first. It took some time for me, a few rereads of his stories, before it stuck with me.
