Guess the movie game

This is a simple game. Based on a clue or two, you have to guess the name of the movie. The correct guesser will then provide the next clue or set of clues, and the guessing continues and so on.

You have to keep in mind that the clues should contain enough indications towards the movie in question, and no wrong facts should be included in it.

The clues can be the plot, famous trivia, actors/actresses link-ups, goofs, anything which will make the name of the movie slightly easy to guess

OK I am going first and starting off with a simple one. The clues are :-

1) The opening credits are shown over a blurred image of the killer removing skin from his fingertips.

2) At the beginning of the movie, when the two lead actors walk down the street, all the building addresses begin with the same number.

3) The town's name that the events take place is never given.

4) The ending credits roll down instead of up.

Plenty of easy clues. Guess the movie?

_____V_____ 05-28-2006 10:19 AM

no guesses? or no takers?

thought this was an easy one...

Anyway...the correct answer comes later tonight, or sooner if anyone correctly guesses it...

That reply pretty much sums it up.

"Anything I touch, turns to dust."

The movie is Se7en.

_____V_____ 05-29-2006 11:19 AM

This second set of 2 clues is :-

1 - The Plot

Its about a couple who get caught in the middle of an alien's plan to enslave human bodies using some sort of "live frisbees", which are actually small alien creatures that attach themselves to the victims and suck their blood out through tentacles. The couple have to protect themselves not only from the aliens but also from the drunk locals, all the while the master alien grabs more and more humans...

2 - This early 80s flick had 2 actors who went on to win Oscars for best performances in a supporting role. (NOT for this movie but in their acting careers)

Guess the movie?

_____V_____ 05-29-2006 08:41 PM

_____V_____ 05-29-2006 09:57 PM

alrite pamperhead...:D here goes :-

One of the 2 actors mentioned above won the Oscar for "City Slickers", the other won it for "Ed Wood".

now that should make it REAL easy...:p

guess the movie?

_____V_____ 05-30-2006 05:04 AM

hmm no idea yet? think people...:)

Anyway those 2 actors (if you dont know already) are :-

Jack Palance & Martin Landau.

Last clue :-

- This movie was released in 1980 and Greydon Clark was the director. Other cast members include David Caruso and Kevin Peter Hall (Predator) as the Master Alien.

There you have it. Aliens. Hairy frisbees. Jack Palance. Martin Landau. David Caruso. Kevin Hall. 1980. Greydon Clark.

And the movie is...???

Posher778 05-30-2006 05:29 AM

So technically it's my turn, you didn't even give me a sure sign that i got it, so i'm going now.

1. It involves a brother and his younger sister (as well as other stars)

2. It takes place in america.

3. It was made after 2000

4. It was not (to most people) a very good movie by any means, and is not well known either.

5. The star recently was part of an excellent movie.

(More clues in a bit)

well you never ventured an answer (except the reply which I quoted above and another one way above)...and nobody else did either. Since I had to provide the correct answer, I went again. (although I did wait for 1 whole day for somebody to post)

Like I said, the person who guesses the correct answer gets to post the next set of clues. You can give 3 clues, and someone has to guess the movie.

I didnt get any guesses or names of movie from you Posher.

Neways, I ll venture a guess to your clues. hmm...

Jeepers Creepers?

Posher778 05-30-2006 10:23 AM

No, and, sorry, I guess I was confused, but let's just proceed. Not JP, but that's not too bad of a guess I suppose.

- It is made by a director well known on HDC

horrorobsessed 05-30-2006 03:35 PM

um, frailty

house of wax (unlikely)

cursed

The_Return 05-30-2006 04:22 PM

Im thinking Cursed also.

By the way, the answer to _V_'s happens to be my namesake, The Return. Total coincidence, but still pretty cool:p

lol Return...it aint The Return.:p

The correct answer to mine is "The Warning" aka "Without Warning".

And Posher's clues do indicate that its Cursed, made by Wes Craven.

If thats the correct answer, horrorobsessed gets to post the next set of clues.

Posher778 05-31-2006 02:27 PM

Not cursed, nor anything else said. And V, i'm porety sure we can figure out on our own who goes next, etc...

geez, since it is a new game all I did was point out how it would go, just in case some people who play are confused about it...

(shaking head at "we") thought I was a part of HDC too, and not another guest or outsider...

btw...anyway...is the answer House of Wax?

Don't take it that way, i'm not trying to be an asshole. I'm in post *listened to screaming girls scream about spiders in their tents until 8 am and got 0 hours of sleep camping last night* trauma. I just meant that we (as in everyone, you included) probably know whose up next, no big deal.

But no it isn't house of wax, you aren't considering one of the hints. But I will hint in a minute.

Ouch! I know how that one goes. Been there myself and its a suckass feeling to have in the morning. Sorry bro. I apologise for my outlandish behaviour.

Posher778 06-01-2006 04:30 PM

No Problem.

The director of the movie has been said to have made one great film and a bunch of *blah* movies afterward.

The_Return 06-01-2006 05:04 PM

I dont think it has Hint #1, but Red Eye fits the rest of the criteria....

Posher778 06-01-2006 05:05 PM

No.

The_Return 06-01-2006 05:07 PM

The "not well known" hint is the one thats screwing me up...I would guess Scream 3, but that was pretty popular...

Posher778 06-01-2006 05:09 PM

Heh, as you continue to rely on movies that I like.

It is not directed by Wes Craven.

_____V_____ 06-01-2006 10:00 PM

Shyamalan's The Village? I dunno just a guess

horrorobsessed 06-02-2006 09:07 AM

mortuary

fear of the dark

Posher778 06-02-2006 09:12 AM

Horror obsessed got it. It is mortuary.

horrorobsessed 06-02-2006 09:24 AM

i thought that movie was kinda cool, the ending sucked and my parents thought it was totally screwed up. but hey, what can i say. anyway...

CLUES:

1) involves the band BloodLust

2) was made in the 70s

3) very well-known director

The_Return 06-02-2006 12:54 PM

- Has a great sepia-toned dream sequence

_____V_____ 06-02-2006 07:49 PM

The Resurrected?

horrorobsessed 06-02-2006 07:52 PM

dagon

The_Return 06-03-2006 07:59 AM

No and no

It's super low budget, made in the 80's

_____V_____ 06-03-2006 08:17 AM

The Unnamable?

The_Return 06-03-2006 12:58 PM

Nope

Has some of the worst actors Ive ever seen.

I'll think of some better hints later, I promise.
