HDC Chooses: Best Horror Movie of 2011

Okay, let's try this again. The first attempt had too many films which nobody had seen, and hopefully by now many of you might have seen these movies already.

So which one do you think deserves the crown for 2011?

For me, it has to be Tucker and Dale vs Evil. A very funny horror comedy with a great premise.

Out of those, Troll Hunter. That was an amazing movie. I love giant monster movies.

I enjoyed both of those movies a lot, but for me it was Stakeland - Great character piece and I liked the horrifying post-apocalyptic world that they created.

Not seen Tucker and Dale vs Evil yet, but I voted for Troll Hunter. Stakeland was good too, but Troll Hunter was just too much fun.

Insidious without a doubt.

I voted Stakeland. If I could pick 2nd, I'd go with Red State although I admittedly have yet to see Troll Hunter or Tuck & Dale. (Perhaps this thread will be enough to prompt me to finally watch them on Netflix.) Scream 4 was run of the mill. Insidius didn't do anything for me. PA3, I will wait for video but can't imagine it's muc different than the first two. This is the 1st I've heard of Black Death or Grave Encounters so I guess I'll have to check them out. I thought Stakeland and Red State were both pretty wicked though.

Insidious definitely but with Troll Hunter and Grave Encounters joint second they were both amazing too.

From the films on the poll, I'm voting Black Death. Considering the story content I think it's the best one from the poll. But my more precise picks would be this one, that I created & maintaining on IMDB.
Btw, most of the '2010' films on the list actually become 'available to watch' (legally & illegally) in 2011.
