So I just found out that the Texas Theater in Dallas is a 60's theater that is still open. Its the theater where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested after the assassination. They do incredible movies!!!!! On Tuesday I am going to see a movie from 1991 called Dream Stalker. Its a NOES rip off, low budget, high gore. A couple days later, Candyman on 35mm!!!!! followed by a concert on the stage they have behind the screen! Im so freaking stoked I found this place.

Good for you, Jake! What an historic spot. That kind of setting and a classic on screen is an incomparable experience. Sounds like you'll have to have a place in your budget for all the films you'll be seeing.
Along the same nostalgic lines, I've recently discovered The Mahoning Drive-In and a few weeks ago we saw a triple feature of Squirm, Frogs and Kingdom of the Spiders. It was like going back in time.

By the way, great to see your posts, man! I hope the family is well and your health has been good.

OMG, that drive in looks incredible!

The movie we are going to see on Tuesday is free! The Candyman/Concert is $8. Its crazy cheap. And the concessions are stupid cheap too. Im so excited.

Its great to be back. Im hoping to post a bunch of really short stories over the next few weeks in an attempt to get the juices flowing again. Then maybe I can get to writing for real. Lol. I posted my first in a while on the Horror Fiction section yesterday.

I saw that post and bookmarked it. Can't wait to check it out.
Before we crashed, someone started a post asking who on this forum did any writing. I brought up your name and mentioned your talent and several other members echoed my sentiments. I'm bringing this up so you know how well thought of your work is here on HDC. Give us more!

That makes me smile. Thank you. Ive missed it, but time has been really difficult. I want to do a bunch of 500-700 word flash fiction sort of deals. Just fast, brutal, spooky stuff. Hopefully at least. Lol.

Just wanted to give an update.

The theater was beautiful, it was ancient but well kept. There was a full lounge and bar. Surprisingly there was a lot of people present, if I had to guess I would say 100+ people. They called it Tuesday Night Trash. They do it once or twice a month. The movie was introduced live by the two men that own the theater. They also created a video pre show that highlighted all of the Nightmare on Elm Street rip offs made in the early 90's. The movie was excellently terrible. Absolutely freaking terrible. The crowd laughed loud and threw jokes at the screen all night. It was fantastic. At the end, they managed to get the guy that played the lead on skype and thrown up on the screen. He did a 30 minute Q&A that was epicly hilarious. I will be going as often as humanly possible going forward. Im in love.
