I'm more into hard rock, classic rock and punkrock than metal.
It's more fun and less serious. I like that. AC/DC (Bon Scott), Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Buckcherry, Creedence, Dead Boys, Guns N' Roses, Motorhead, Oasis, Riot (Guy Speranza), Ramones, Rose Tattoo, Sex Pistols, UFO, Van Halen (David Lee Roth), Zodiac Mindwarp,... The few metal bands that I like are Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Danzig and Dissection. There might be others but I can't recall them right now. Quote:
But it's the kind of music you have to listen to a couple of times before you really appreciate it. And you have to be in the right mood. I don't play them often but I love them. |

I'm not sure if you consider them metal or not but I really enjoy Deftones.

My Favorite heavy metal bands?
Kinda difficult to separate "metal" from hard rock & nu metal. Like Baron Von Marlon said, I'm more into hard rock & classic rock than "metal". Favs would be: AC/DC, Def Leppard & Mastedon (not Mastodon) Other "metal" groups with some good music: Ozzy, Sabbath, Priest, Scorpions, Van Hallen, Motley Crue, Kingsx, Metallica, If you want to call them metal: Deep Purple/Rainbow, Rage Against the Machine, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Blue Oyster Cult |

Avenged sevenfold (favorite)
Iron maiden Death Behemoth Darkthrone Xasthur Metallica, mostly pre-black album stuff Gojira Slipknot Tool This is also in no particular order |
I was more into progressive and classic rock than metal. And don't listen to much of it these days, haven't kept up. But listening to the beginning of this local metal show, I know there's a lot of really good new metal. Old 'metal' I used to like was Def Leppard (Pyro), Rush, Priest, White Snake and really just a lot of metal songs, not really into the albums/bands.
