What's out right now that's worth seeing?

well

urgeok 04-29-2005 12:19 PM

SIN CITY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

X¤MurderDoll¤X 04-29-2005 12:26 PM

Sin City was great, Amityville Horror was awesome too.

urgeok 04-29-2005 12:33 PM

well, i want to see Hitchhikers' .. havent seen anything positive on it yet though

X¤MurderDoll¤X 04-29-2005 12:50 PM

I'm probably going to have to see Star Wars, (Hopefully this one isn't completely retarded....) so I'm not sure I want to watch a sci-fi space movie right now. Especially one that's not sure-fire. I might end up seeing it, the preview looked funny.

urgeok 04-29-2005 12:56 PM

the preview looked promising .. my wife said it made her want to see it ..

i'm still not sold.. it'll probably be another souless piece of hi-tech crap ...

i'll wait for the DVD unless she really wants to go.

barbra 04-29-2005 01:24 PM

HitchHikers HELLO!!! It opened today, Im going to wait until sunday or monday because Im going with a friend who fell off a mountain and something about lots of people/stairs or something. Can you feel my excitement for this movie?? NPR has been doing shows about it all week, they have me pretty siked.

slasherman 04-29-2005 07:47 PM

I liked "Saw" ....but that "Constantine" sucked
Gonna see "Sin City" tomorrow..have heard some nice things about it....but I dont trust anybody

bwind22 04-29-2005 08:29 PM

If you've already seen Sin City and Amityville, you might as well wait a few weeks. We've got GREAT movies coming out this summer!

Batman Begins
Land of the Dead
Star Wars Episode III

Those 3 should all be phenomenal! Plus there are a lot of other movies coming out that look to have promise...

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
War of the Worlds
House of Wax
Mindhunters
Excorcist prequel
The Longest Yard
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Dark Water
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo
The 40 Year Old Virgin

Plus a whole bunch of other shit that looks less good, but could still wind up being okay.

bwind22 04-29-2005 08:43 PM

Yeah, this one is about a group of FBI students who get sent to a remote location to train for profiling serial killers, but it turns out there is a serial killer there with them and is killing them off 1 by 1. Val Kilmer and LL Cool J are in it.

The STE 04-29-2005 09:31 PM

save your money and go see Batman Begins multiple times

The Mothman 04-29-2005 09:35 PM

Uhm no. This movie hasn't come out yet. It iisn't getting released until sometime in July. I don't think you could have seen this one yet. And it's a cop movie, not a slasher movie. It doesn't look anything like Saw or Scream.

i'll be damned if i can remember what it stands for ...

its a PC format .. i download them from the newsgroups.
The really uncompressed ones can run 3 discs for one movie but they look like DVDs (picture quality)

they were big on the asian market and were actually released officially with proper packaging...before DVDs got so cheap.

crazy raplh 05-03-2005 05:38 PM

VCD = Video Compact disc. it is formatted movies or video in .wav .jpeg etc..

i love working at a movie theater.....all the films this summer i get to see 3 or more days before released because we screen them :) gotta love it.....Star Wars we screen 3 times before the opening....cant wait and Batman Begins I will see atleast 4 or 5 times....hell I saw Sin City 6 times....and Kingdom of Heaven looks good also.....and Unleashed with Jet Lei and Bob Hoskins looks good.....

virus five 05-04-2005 07:11 AM

I am always envious of people who work in theaters and video stores for that reason.

Then I remember how much money they make.

(No offense, Gore. I'm just a money-hungry fool.)

GorePhobia 05-04-2005 02:11 PM

none taken....but I am in film school and shit so all i need is a part time job and a movie theater works....as many hours as I want gettin 5.50 plus i will be a crew lead soon with is 50 cent more so 6 an hour and free movies is worth it....also in NJ the hourly rate is going up in 2 months so i'll be getting 8 an hour.....:)
