Godfather II, one of the best sequels or what?

Hey! I like Gothika and Godsend too!

Really? Then we should get married. ;)

About Godfather 2 being one of the best sequals. Coulnīt agree more. Nr 3 sucks badly though...

I agree with Cheeba with some things. I KINDA liked Gothika wasn't all that great but it wasn't that bad.

Same with Godsend, I didn't see it but it did look ok.

DOTD it was good but like Cheeba said, it was more like a reinvention. I mean the running zombies seem more of a threat, but slower zombies just seem to make better movies I think.

I'll just say exactly what Cheeba said. "Saw was good, yeah...although I'm not inclined to run out and buy the dvd straight away."

I haven't seen the others yet but I heard Gurdge wasn't that good, I still wanna see it though.

"Gothika" STANK. The end is a comnplete con and makes no sense at all. NO WAY it would work out like that for her.

Not at all.
It's a far cry indeed from the stunning first 2 (which i see as one film anyway) but that is mostly down to Sofia's awful turn, the lack of Robert Duvall and the less than thriling Vatican plot (though it does show up the Catholic Church and it's cronies for what hey are, which is nice).

But for fans of the "Godfather" story there is much here of interest.
Not least of which are the nods to the other films (GREAT to have Michael's old bodyguard appear again), the on going journey of Connie and the heart breaking finale for Michael.
The very last sequence is pure magic for fans of the series and is a really emotional end to it all.
Highly flawed, not great as film on it's own...but there is still much to enjoy here.

i thought Gothika just reeked of unorigionality.
The typical plot twist again .. take the most unlikely person ...
thats the bad guy. As if ......
The ghost enlisting someone to find her killer ...done to death (pardon the pun)

It had the same appeal as breakfast at Dennys.

Nemesis412 01-22-2005 09:31 AM

Yeah, I'd like to see a movie where the ending isn't what everbody wants. I want a bad ending. Kudos to Saw for having that a little bit. Also agree with Urgeok about the most unlikely person thing. They should take the person that evrybody thinks did it....and actually HAVE him/her be the bad guy.

Chronicles of Riddick.

Godfather 3 is not a bad movie...it just had to live up to perhaps two of the best movies ever made. When taken on its own, Gf3 is actually pretty engrossing .
