USD usually around $20 as far as getting them at Best Buy or Circuity City etc...

Inside was $14.99, Teeth was $17.88, most higher profile movies release at $19.99 unless it's a special multi-disc collector's edition.

does best buy carry Inside?

i think on average - we pay 25$ for most new releases - usually around 10$ more for special editions.

but if you wait a bit you can almost always find them cheaper at HMV once they are best sellers.

looks like we're still paying more because of the bullshit exchange rate that was never adjusted.

we're still paying the Canadian price on books which is a huge rip off since our money is at par. greedy bastards must really enjoy cutting their own throats.

i get a kick out of it because you were with DVDs the way i was with CDs.
i held out with vinyl long after most people.

and i still buy it used from time to time today - but i began to appreciate things about CDs .. (the smaller space they took, the durability ... etc.

same thing i like about DVDs ... but most importantly - the capacity - i love special features.

The space thing is definatley a factor! There's a lot of sentimentality involved with VHS for me too (the covers/versons of the film). I'm happy with owing a bunch of stuff on VHS and probably won't bother picking it up on DVD but I've found myself picking up favorite films if there cheap. But yeh diggin' on that a few are like a whole new movie.

and re: the price of new release DVDs most run close $40 over here and come out several months after they've been released for rental. Fuckin' lame. Ends up easier and cheaper buying from overseas or trading with other collectors.
