THE MONSTER SHOW-David Skal. Cultural history of horror through the 20th century. Good read and Skal also has some fine film commentaries out there.

I've been re-reading "The Manitou"series by Graham Masterton. The first is pretty good, Revenge is great and the others are, to be honest, pretty poor but they aren't long and following Harry Erskine's journey is fun.
One thing confusing though is that Harry very rarely talks about his past battles with Misquamacus. If that were me, every time anything strange happened I'd be thinking Here we go again.

RAT SALAD:BLACK SABBATH-THE CLASSIC YEARS 1969-1975 by Paul Wilkinson.
Very good overview of Black Sabbath's first six albums (which are essential recordings) with extremely detailed musings of the individual songs. Also included are insights on what was happening in the lives of the author, band, popular culture and world events around the release dates.

I've just finished Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer which is SF horror. Trailers of the film suggest that adaptation is perhaps better than the book.

KILLER CRABS-Guy N Smith. Second in a surprisingly long series about radiation affected crabs grown to enormous size with a vendetta against mankind.
Absurd in the extreme, but an uncomplicated read with lots of raunchy sex and gruesome deaths to keep the story moving.
