Hard Boiled: When it comes to mindless rollercoaster rides and popcorn fun, this is how it's done. The action set pieces deliever, Chow Yun-Fat is a badass in this one and John Woo puts himself on the map. Oh yeah, and Kwok Chung-Feng made for a memorable bad guy.

Doolittle with Downy Jr
5/10 It's pleasant. If you're looking for something mild to take your mind off things. More suited for kids. Sort of had a Pirates of the Caribbean whimsicalness, but obviously without Pirates dark side or sex appeal. |

Mother Krampus
I was expecting a comedy horror that is meant to be stupid but funny from this one, but it turned out to be a serious horror film that is actually pretty scary and intense with plenty of twists and turns near the end. The ediitng and picture quality are not the best, but aside from that, I found it worth a look and I might look at this one again. ::danger::

Mother Krampus 2
After seeing the first one, and finding it worth a look, I decided to look at this one. It is not related to the first film, as this is taking place in the United States with total different people. Even the Mother Krampus in this one is a total different lady that has nothing to do with the Mother Krampus in the first one. This one is more of a comedy horror that is entertaining, and it keeps interest. It is not great like most of the Krampus movies, but still worth a look for at least one time. ::cool::

Bad Boys for Life.
Well...unlike the latest "distant" sequels I've seen (Bill & Ted/Jay and Silent Bob) this one actually managed to feel connected to it's franchise...which honestly surprised me. Props to Will Smith for keeping his character the same...with how kind of family friendly he's been over the last decade this was actually a nice surprise that showed respect to the initial installments. I didn't want to see it...I was pretty sure it would be horseshit...but it managed to be a decent (albeit explodey) action film with a nice balance of comedy sprinkled throughout. They didn't pull many stops on this one though...few things I really wasn't expecting. It's competent, even though it felt a bit like spinoff bait. If you liked the first 2, I don't see you being disappointed in this. Is it *as good*, maybe not, but close. Bill & Ted Face the music. Meh. Fuck off with this shit. 10 years ago was bordering on "too late" if you ask me...and the guys absolutely slept through their parts, with Teds daughter doing a better Ted than he was. Just felt pointless. The humour was gone. ...and I really don't need to see anything with Kristen Schaal in it ever again, let alone Rufus' daughter FFS...what an insult. Felt a bit too much like a loose rehash of the first one as well. Also found it a bit chauvanist...where the two main guys look like walking dogshit (you see why Keanu wears a beard now, his face is melting) yet they replace the princess actresses with chicks 10 or more years their junior. What a fucking flop. Never again. |

aa SUCK (2009).>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SPOILERS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Absolute gem about a struggling Rock band ("The Winners", no less) whose lovely Female Bass Player (Jessica Pare::love::) , after being Vampirized, infects the rest of the band and they find success beyond their wildest dreams. Will they be able to control their urges and keep ahead of Eddie Van Helsing (Malcolm McDowell), a Vampire slayer who is afraid of the dark? Writer/director/Star Rob Stefanuik does a terrific job on all counts and even writes much of the material "The Winners" perform in the film...real good and sounding a lot like Green Apple Quickstep,( a great indie band from the 90's whose 1995 LP RE-LOADED is highly recommended) along with other great songs by other artists and any film that has The Stooges "T.V. EYE"-twice to boot- is all right by Me. Lots of reference to Classic Rock albums covers (We spotted ABBEY ROAD, ELECTRIC WARRIOR, THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT and BORN IN THE USA) and many Rock Stars in here like Moby (very much like GG Allin), Henry Rollins, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper and his Daughter Calico as well as a Canadian rocker who is hilarious as a Border Guard...it just wouldn't be cricket to reveal the name. **** |

I really don't get why this movie is so highly praised. |

SOMETHING IN THE WOODS 2015
It's the late 1960's and a family is stalked by something in the woods around their home. Appears low- budget but enjoyed it. |
|
CASTLE FREAK (1995). Truly enjoyed RE-ANIMATOR and FROM BEYOND and knowing the Director and two Principals from both would be in here got me intrigued enough to add it to NETFLIX. A family inherits a castle in Italy and soon, all sorts of Skeletons are falling out of closets. Some nasty scenes, but the film is slowly paced and ultimately suffers when compared to its outrageous predecessors. **.
