I just recently finished "The Power of One". Novel about South Africa, boxing, and coming of age. It was very good, highly recommended.

The Apocalypse Reader – an anthology about the end of the world. Tons of big names: Poe, Lovecraft, Oates, Evenson, Gaiman, Link, Lutz, but somehow it’s not quite connecting for me.

I'm trying to read Swan Song by Robert McCammon and I just cant seem to get into it.Can anyone tell me "Does it get any better"? It is awful boring to me,but I'm only in maybe the third chapter.

I've heard others criticize McCammon for his rather slow pace in setting the story, but I think this is a good technique to immerse the reader and provide tension. "Stinger" gave me similar trepidation, however, McCammon is quite good, so stick with it.

On a different note, I started Clive Barker's "The Great and Secret Show" last night. It's not all that scary, but Barker's writing is addicting.

I just read it a few weeks ago. Classic Vonnegut.
