Saw this hammer film again a few days ago and wow I forgot just how amazing this film is-in fact I may go as far as to say it's my fave hammer film. I saw this a kid on tv and it completely freaked me out, scary, violent, gothic, overtly sexual and brutal. I still loved it as much on this viewing as ever before. Though it definitely left a huge impact on me especially my fave scene when the "undead" woman rises out of the grave-powerful and still quite ethereal. Also I admit I expected to find it more camp now but no it's deadly serious, the level of violence is among the most full-on I've ever seen hammer do. I also noticed a lot of Sade undertones which added to the joy. It truly encapsulates how people are drawn to the darker side of life-a natural primal urge that some people can't resist. A rare treat-hope you enjoy
