Studiocanal have launched a worldwide search for the missing footage from The Wicker Man because it's the 40th anniversary and they want to release a definitive edition on Blu-ray/DVD. Great news but having looked into it, the rumours and misinformation on the wear abouts and disappearance of the original uncut print are varied and many!!
Studiocanal did a great job on the HD restoration of the theatrical cut but how on earth are they going to work their magic on cuts that may no longer exist?
Brave move and hopefully it will bear fruit and we shall be dancing in the fields once again, or shaking are naked bums in our bedrooms and singing at the top of our lungs! :)
Great stuff!! What are your thoughts on it all? Is it doable? It's been such a long time but there MUST be a print somewhere.... right?
