What are the movies that every big horror fan should see at least once in their life? I'll start off with a few.

Halloween, The Exorcist, The Evil Dead, Friday The 13th, Psycho, A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Shining, Night Of The Living Dead, Nosferatu.

Being from the old school and being old myself, I always recommend the four Universal greats:

Frankenstein
The Bride Of Frankenstein
Dracula
The Wolf Man

M is a great flick. I'm not as big of a fan of the classic/Universal stuff. Guess I grew up during the 80s so that era had more of an impact on me.

Halloween, The Exorcist, The Evil Dead, Friday The 13th, Psycho, A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Shining, Night Of The Living Dead, Nosferatu.

Definitely back that lot. Some essential viewing right there.

A few I'd add:

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Dawn Of The Dead
The Burning
The Prowler
Return Of The Living Dead
Deranged
Brain Damage
The Thing
Near Dark
Zombie
Phantasm

...man I could prattle off titles all day :D

Bizarre

^The Thing is a good shout. I like that film every time I see it but I know it wouldn't have sprung to my mind.

Hellraiser
IT
The Omen
Rosemary's Baby
The Wicker Man

1. Night of the Living Dead - original. Tom Savini's remake was decent.
2. Dawn of the Dead - original. Greatest movie of all time. Refake is garbage.
3. Day of the Dead - original. Refake worse than garbage.
4. Hellraiser
5. Hellbound: Hellraiser II
6. Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth
7. Evil Dead
8. Devils Rejects
9. Cannibal Holocaust
10. Brain Dead - also known as Dead Alive.

Ten must see films for any horror fan!

Christine is a great film dude. Do you not like it? I reckon all the older Carpenter films are essential stuff the guy didn't put a foot wrong back then.

I'll have to agree that Christine is a classic. The OP asked us to name films that a horror fan should see at least once, and I'd say one should see Christine.

The Decent, though... I never took to that like a lot of other people did,
