10 reasonably well known films with the lowest IMDB ratings. Do these deserve their reputation? Is there a turkey infinitely worse?

The Giant Spider Invasion (1975)
The Crater Lake Monster (1977)
SS Experiment Love Camp (1976)
Laserblast (1978)
Snuff (1976)
The Incredible Melting Man (1977)
Trog (1970)
The Beast In Heat (1977)
The Thing With Two Heads (1972)
Empire Of The Ants (1977)

I really like Laserblast. Mindless goofy escapism for sure but I wouldn't consider it a "bad" movie. I miss all the teenagers/kids vs the world themed sci-fi and horror flicks from the late 70s and 80s... they were all about rebellion and being heard. All the disney styled rubbish they aim at kids these days is just a visual induced lobotomy enforcing conformity. Worth a look once you thrashed the classics in this style like Hooper's Invaders From Mars and are after something fresh.

Snuff deserves a WAY lower rating. Painfully shit but worth a look for the ending and if you can pick it up on VHS it has some dope artwork. Easily one of the worst the exploitation/horror genre has to offer. Gotta hand it the makers however because they pulled of the greatest scam and made a ton of money of this and will more than likely continue doing so for many years to come. Text book example of audience exploitation :p

The Incredible Melting Man is essential viewing if only for Rick Baker's effects. Been meaning to watch this again but my copy is so beat up that it's just a pain in the ass to sit through.

The Beast In Heat is one of the better nazi flicks. Not quite Ilsa but nowhere near as dull 90% of the subgenre. I liked the SS Hell Camp title better because the "Beast" comes as more of a surprise making the movie just that little bit more out there... well the cover art will no doubt give that away anyways. I first saw it on a bootleg tape and was like "What the fuck this up with this flick?"

Trog is so bad. It deserves its reputation. Poor Joan Crawford in her last days. At least she gets to say things like "Let me get my hypo gun!" but Michael Gough is completely wasted. The monster is silly, but at least there's some recycled Harryhausen dinosaur footage.

Thanks guys.:)

I watched Laserblast, and I see what you mean Elvis. It didn't seem to be in the same league with the others.

I highly recommend The Giant Spider Invasion.

Laserblast (1978)

Trog (1970)

The Thing With Two Heads (1972)

All guilty pleasures of mine

but you can't have The Thing With Two Heads in there and not include The Incredible 2-Headed Transplant.

I still haven't actually seen Snuff so want to see what all the fuss is about.

I have to recommend Flesh For Frankenstein and Blood For Dracula if only for Udo Kier's campness. Toxic Zombies is great and also has a pop at the US Government.

But the grand prize goes to the astonishingly bad Night Of The Damned.

The Giant Spider Invasion (1975) - Actually pretty entertaining for a cheesy film.

Laserblast (1978) - Another really cheesy sci-fi entertainer.

The Incredible Melting Man (1977) - Painful to watch and can get slow sometimes. Makes it up with a lot of bad effects.

Trog (1970) - It's so bad you got to see it to believe it.

The Thing With Two Heads (1972) - A cheesy blast!

Empire Of The Ants (1977) - Bad, really really bad.

Haven't seen the rest.
