I really enjoyed this film. It's a great starter film for young, aspiring horror fans.

P.S. This is a serious thread people!! We're actually discussing the film The Gate.

Lol-the creatures were great! That special effect hasn't aged well, lol.

Its crazy seeing Stephen Dorff go from that child to some of the roles hes taken on lately.

I really loved this film.

Especially the bit where the scientist created a creature from cadavers but accidentally put the brain of a deranged criminal in its skull.

And the bit where the ancient Egyptian mummy was resurrected after some explorers defiled its tomb.

One of Bela Lugosi's finest films, I believe.

I see he also directed Kraken: Tentacles Of The Deep. Sean Keller (aka Roderick Usher) was a writer for that film.

The Gate scared me more than any other movie ive ever watched. I guess it was the right age(6 or 7 maybe) and when i watched it but for some reason(not like little demons runnin around arent reason enough) the Gate scared the shit out of me. Havent watched in quite some time. Somethin tells me it wont be nearly as scary as i remember.

i saw this movie a couple of weeks ago on tv.
i thought the description dish tv gave it was pretty hillarious.. it was something along the lines of a heavy metal album unlocks a portal to hell in the backyard of a suburban neighborhood...

No, they got it wrong. The heavy metal album just talked about it, it had nothing to do with opening the gate. Stupid TV guide people.
