Me and the little lady have started a weekly movie night on the weekends and we have discovered that the movies we agree on are the 70s & 80s slasher type films that were so popular. You know the ones; with lots of brutal kills and gratuitous nudity and drug use. Damn, they just don't make them like that any more. These films have proven to be great for after the little ones are fast asleep. Last week we watched the original Bloody Valentine on Blu-ray and we have been thru most of the obvious choices (Halloween, Friday the 13th...) and now we could use some suggestions.

Reanimator's a good one, Videodrome, Zombie, The Wicker Man, Bad Taste, Pieces, Tenebre, Deep Red, Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Eraserhead, El Topo, The Blood Spattered Bride, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Death Race 2000

Although recently released The House Of The Devil has an 70s 80s feel and should be enjoyable considering the kind of movies your looking for.

I have Maniac and House of the Devil on order for this weekend (sounds like a wicked double feature). Hell yes. The Prowler looks like a winner too so I will get that one soon and will investigate the others as well. Keep the suggestions coming.

That is part of tonight's double feature and if there are no tits I will be bummed.

Wow, thanks for all the new suggestions. We have seen some and adding many others to the list.

I see Terror Train on a list. We just watched that one and it was good to see David Copperfield getting work.

You know...I actually liked The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. (1994), it was the first movie I seen in that particular franchise. and I was probably around 12 or so. So it must have been sometime in like 2002-2003ish. I'd watch that one. I'm searching for it on DVD because I already own the original, 2, and the 2003 remake of the original, well..Revision, whatever.

Anyways.
1) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994)
Didn't like the Beginning as much as the other films in the series.

Uhm, I really enjoyed some of the SAW movies.

1) SAW (2004) - That was my personal favorite one.

I'd also say, check out the Wrong turn movies, they're not from the '70s or '80s but they are pretty awesome, and definately the original Nightmare on Elm street movie ('84)

Also try Death Proof (2007) It's not 70s or 80s, but it's got a 70s muscle car vibe to it, and I mean c'mon guys and girls Quentin Tarantino and Kurt Russell, fantastic movie.

Here are some I thought of:
Society (1989)- if you want nudity, this movie delivers that and a lot more
Rabid (1977)-early David Cronenberg contagion flick
Shivers (1975)-another early David Cronenberg contagion flick with an extra
(see Night Of The Creeps)

Good calls guys both Night of the Creeps and Society are excellent.

It's been quite some time since I've seen Shivers I might have to pull that one out and give it a watch.
