Published by Image comics. I picked up ish. 4 for my first one. Reminded me alot of romeros movies. Its in Black and White and pretty creepy drawings. Theres a great Bite pic where a woman gets her neck ripped apart! Anyone else seen this? I need to know how the series started and why the dead are alive, if there is a reason

Oh man...

THE WALKING DEAD is possibly one of the coolest horror comic books currently on the market!

It's a survivalist story when the world is overrun by zombies (a la 28 Days Later, and... wow. What a story! Great writing and great black and white art!

Issue #6 just came out, and a TPB of the collected first six issues will be hitting the shelves in about a month for the low-low price of $9.95. Seriously, this book is worth going to the store for...

God... this is only my second post and I sound like a shill.

Oh well... it's a great comic! :D

Best wishes,
Aaron Weisbrod

Any comic store should be able to order you the TPB of the first six issues, m'man... and for only $9.95, it's a freakin' STEAL!!!

If not, try a local book store... the publisher is Image Comics. ;)

Do you have a comic shop in driving distance?

Best wishes,
Aaron

Dude,... don't sweat it. Order from Image or Diamond direct.
By the way,... I'm like 3 hours south of you and we don't have an official shop either.

I liked the BW artwork. The flies buzzing around in every panel was a nice touch. I ordered the TP from Amazon. The only part I didn't like was the scene where the characters covered themselves in dead goop and fooled the zombies' sensors. I thought it kind of implied that the zombies weren't the supernatural, end-of-the world harbringers I was hoping they were.

Hi! I'm new here and this is the first time posting.

I just have to say I have read EVERY issue of The Walking Dead and this is a great story!! My brother got me into it because we share a love for zombie movies.

you can find a lot of info on it at http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=3716

That last link is for the trade paperback on Amazon. I really suggest you get that.

It's a gritty story that is filled with emotion...

I tried www.image.com, but they suck...

Well, I guess I'm going to be alone in this one, but I think The Walking Dead is nothing special at all.

The dialogue is horribly hackneyed, the characters interchangable, and the plot much too much like anything Romero has already done to be interesting.

I read the first two tradces because it's been getting such good notices, but for the life of me, I don't see why.
