Your location looks like you're in Japan? I've been watching a lot of Japanese horror movies lately. Are you Japanese or American living in Japan? What are your thoughts on Takashi Miike? I think he's amazing - one of the most interesting (and most prolific) directors working right now.

If you're in Japan, that's cool - you can tell us about the horror scene there!

So as you can notice, I am a tunisian in Japan. I didn't watch many japanese horrors ( being absorbed my the american ones :o :D ) ...No seriously, there is a new movie with a kid that is very scary...I just saw a trailer couple of days ago. I don't recall the title...I will look for it and promise to describe it next time. Now that you are asking me so many interesting questions I feel like wanna watch all the movies to improve my knowladge...;) Thank you.

Hi abunai - I guess I should have read the other thread before posting. :)

Wow, that's awesome you're from all over the place - in Japan but from Tunisia. Do they have horror movies in Tunisia? I am totally un-knowledgeable about the country, but I think I've read they are pretty conservative? Maybe they don't like horror movies too much? Then again, you do and you're from there, so what do I know? :)

A couple Japanese horror movies worth seeing (in my opinion) are:

The Eye (Girl gets new eyes, see ghosts)
Dark Water (Another ghost movie)
Suicide Circle (these kids in Japan all start killing themselves - sort of dumb ending)
Takashi Miike - Check out Audition or Visitor Q - not really horror, but crazy and extreme.

I'm going to write reviews for the site of the movies I've been seeing if I can find the time!

You should check out some Japanese horror movies, I'm sure you have access to way more than we do over here in the U.S.

Thank you very much Ash. this is so nice from you.
I wrote down the movies you advised. i definetly will watch them. It's just that I've been almost a year in Japan. i dont master the language( I'm not there to study language, that's why) so I feel kind of reluctant, you see. i do also apoligize if my english is not that good sometimes. you know my first Languages are arabic and frensh. :) . But I do my best. Always :D . Well, Tunisians though seem conservative, are Youth Society. And they do know a lot about horror movies. Well we don't produce one but the ones we make are kind of scary sometimes, the mind disturbing kinds, because they are done with simple effects but effective ones ;) ( like movies about a crime, or spirits, or crazyness...that stuff).
Well, come back to our point,( in frensh we say : Revenons a nos moutons, when someone wants to get back to the point :D , good to share culture, isn't it ;) ). So, i will watch those Japanese movies you recommended, I wont' forget to tell about the movie I mentioned above...It's just TIME.. yeah yeah, the same excuse.
Ok, got to go, some studies :(
Ah, I forget, if you don't know about Tunisia, it's a north Africain country. Very Nice :D . you can check those links to update ur "knowledge" ;) :p

Thanks for the links and info on Tunisia. It looks beautiful! I guess it's true what you say about most cultures, the young people are more open minded than the older generations. I've seen this in some places in Europe and America definitely.

Your English is as good as most anyone else online from what I can see. It's a lot better than my arabic or japanese, that's for sure. I have a few friends who speak farsi - they tried to teach me some stuff, but it was too hard for my small brain. :)

If you have any interesting pics of Japan or Tunisia, you should post some. Even though it's not horror related, it's always interesting to see stuff about different cultures.

Good luck with your studies.

abunai - Looks like you got it to work. Maybe soon you will be running the whole site! :)

The pictures look really interesting. The architecture is beautiful - nothing like what we have here in California! Is it really hot there? Looks like it might be. The sand is white, the ocean water is blue, maybe time for a vacation? :)

I like the narrow walkways between buildings. There are many cool places like that in Europe too, it makes me think of the way the world used to be. The underground buildings (Matmata) are interesting too. We have some old indian dwellings here in the Western part of the U.S. (Utah, Colorado) that are built right into the mountains. They are long ago abandoned and falling apart, but it reminded me a little of the underground stuff you posted:

http://www.utahadventure.com/molinet/3cliffpalace.jpg

It looks like Tunisia would be a cool place to film some horror movies - ancient architecture like in the old Mummy movies. :)

Thanks for posting the pics!

I was heavily considering a return trip for October 2005, but with the recent re-election of President Bush and the on-going war in Iraq, I'm, well... a little hesitant.
