Dragons are set to invade the planet in a new film from Universal, about a group of globetrotting dragonogolgists.
The film will be loosely based on the faux non-fiction tome Dragonology, by Dugald A. Steer, in which dragons not only exist, but are studied and revered.
The book was first published in the UK in 2003, and has gone on to sell more than 2.8m copies worldwide.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Leonard Hartman will write the script, which will revolve around one man's efforts to take control of the world's dragons and use them to wipe out humanity.
The book's publishers have also signed an agreement with Codemasters to create Dragonology games for the Nintendo Wii and DS.
