Adam Sandler is branching out.
The comic actor is used to going for laughs with the films he produces through his Happy Madison production company, but now he's looking to frighten audiences with his latest flick, Shortcut, which he'll produce through the newly minted Scary Madison label.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie centers on two brothers who take a rarely used shortcut in their new town and soon discover the reasons why it's so rarely used.
The young cast includes Andrew Seeley, Shannon Woodward, and Dave Franco (James' little brother).
Adam Sandler's brother Scott Sandler co-wrote the script with Dan Hannon. Nicholaus Goosen (Grandma's Boy) will direct.
Shortcut is expected to start shooting next month in Saskatchewan.
