I had no idea that Alky was such a classics fan (knew Neverending was :))

And V...You really think Bubba Hotep is better than Army Of Darkness and Man With The Screaming Brain?...That's quite a surprise (to me anyway)

And V...You really think Bubba Hotep is better than Army Of Darkness and Man With The Screaming Brain?...That's quite a surprise (to me anyway)

Yes.

For one basic reason - variety.

2nd reason - the time gap of both movies.

3rd reason - slightly different plotlines, and Bruce.

Same ole' attitude though.

I wouldn't.

I actually like that movie a lot. More than The Seventh Seal.

There's something about Hour of the Wolf which is both horrifying and touching at the same time.

It's a great film but personally I feel The Seventh Seal would compliment Virgin Spring better. I'm not saying it's a better film than Hour of the Wolf. :)

( ^ For his best non-horror, serious roles. I'm sure Dragonwyck would be a better choice for this set, but I haven't had a chance to see it yet...)

He has a really good filmography for this kind of thing....I could come up with a dozen more, easy.

This is more difficult for me than I would have thought, having to find a specific actor that's a favorite, having been in 2 or more films that can unequivocally considered horror which are really good. I would definitely go with your third- Goldblum and the two films you picked- hands down. I also like:

Anthony Hopkins
Silence of the Lambs
Bram Stoker's Dracula

(would love to include Gary Oldman, could use Dracula as well for him but unsure about another horror film in his background- even though he has played some real wackos).

Jack Nicholson
The Shining
The Witches of Eastwick (I would definitely choose some other films of his over Witches, but could not classify them as cleanly in horror- even though some of them had their moments of brutality and suspense; besides Witches is not that bad.)

There are also a couple films that Dennis Hopper has been in which border on the horror category (Blue Velvet, Apocalypse Now, maybe even River's Edge- plus he was in TCM2)

Griffin Dunne
An American Werewolf in London
After Hours (pushing it here- it's really comedy/thriller, but can be loosely applied, plus it's just a crazy flick)

Robert Deniro
Cape Fear
Taxi Driver (substitute Angel Heart if Taxi Driver is too big a stretch)

Brad Dourif
Blue Velvet (he has been in plenty more pure horror films, they're just not as good as BV)
Exorcist III
