What are the worst genre films you have seen? I'm talking the stupidest and most god-awful pieces of trash.

I would have to say Blood Cult, Bloody Murder, Woodchipper Massacre, I Zombie, and Carnivore to name a few.

Off the top of my head, I'd have to say "Wendigo". It's long and boring with bad acting and one of the worst "monsters" ever in a movie. It's not even bad in a campy, fun way. It's just plain bad.

American Nightmare, Halloween 3, and Return of the living dead. (the one from the 80's)

The monster in Darkness Falls is really bad! It looked like a stuffed witch on a string to me. What was the monster effects budget on that movie, like $35?

I'll have to think about the worst horror movie I've ever seen. There are so many on late night TV that I saw as a kid and some of them really sucked.

I have seen many stupid movies that were supposed to deal with Horror and be gorgious  ..It's just that I do forget what does not impress me...You know, my brain's RAM needs freespace for good stuff :p ....

I' ll try to think about it.

I am glad you said Blood Cult! If you hadn't I was going to tell you to go to hell..hehe. We SUFFERED through most of that movie. It was hard to even get a laugh out of it. I am submitting my review for it actually. Don't know if they'll put it up on the site though.

Carnivore is good for a larf, that's true.

I'm sure there are worse, but what sends me running to the porcelain relief station is the 1960's Incubus with William Shatner. It has the distinction to be the first (only?) full-length feature to be filmed in Esperanto. The paper-maiche goathead at the end is priceless.

Just off the top of my head, here are the three worst horror movies I've ever seen in the theater (you know, they type that makes you wanna go up to the manager and demand your $$$ back if you thought it'd work):

THE HAUNTING (remake)
WISHMASTER
SCREAM 2

Runner-up (and I know I'm probably in the minority on this one, so flame away): JASON GOES TO HELL

Hello I,m new to this site and I thought It was really cool. I was reading posts and saw them entersting because I do love horror! I don,t much care for (The Blair Witch) eather..,,There were no horror to it and did,nt show anything they saw out there which sucked about it..Just a bunch of yelling  !! I also think THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 4 *The Next generation* really sucked for worst in all the TCM films! Ed Gein the movie was not so good. I would like to see the TCM Remake version of Texas Massacre,,from previews it looked really good! I still have not seen Jason Vs. Freddy! Is that any good? I also thought Hellraiser Hellseeker was not all that good as well!!

Hey you like that series TCM part 4? No offense if so,I could never get into that one, I tried and tried to like it but it seemed so much of a copy version of part 1 in a much stranger manner! TCM 4 would,nt be so bad if they had Leatherface act more Tougher and not so scared. TCM 1 leatherface I would say was the best one! TCM 1 was the best of all of them speaking! I want to see the TCM remake and see how that goes! The previews of small parts I saw of that one look good from what I saw!

I read it wrong for the first time!! I mistunderstood it at first :o Yea It sucked!! BIG TIME!! I agree with you about that because there was NOTHING to it, Nothing but nonsense! LOL!! Hey dont you think they should of at least showed something in THE BLAIR WITCH and actually get see what they saw? " Thats what I was really curious about through out the whole film..I was actually wanting to see what was outside that tent of theres and see what they were running from& thought for a second that they would of shown what was clicking those rocks out there in the forest!! The part where she found that guys ear was cool & then they kept hearing the screaming outside the forest was trippy!!Then suddenly that was it towards the end!! I did however liked those little stick figures she made!! Did you like the BLAIR WITCH 2?

Yeah, I liked the sequel for the most part. I didn't think it was *great* by any means, but it had some genuinely creepy moments . . . .

SPOILERS BELOW

I've always found "loss of control" to be one of the creepiest things that can happen to a person. The ending freaked me out pretty good, when the video showed something totally different happening than what the characters (thought they had?) really experienced.

Imagine *knowing* that that's not what occurred, but you can't prove it to anybody 'cause the evidence of the complete opposite is right there in front of your face?

That was cool.

No offense to anyone, but those who don't like "The Blair Witch Project" because they didn't show anything do not understand real horror. Alfred Hitchcock made amazingly shocking films with mostly implied terrors. Since when did gore make something scarey? Most films today with too much "in your face" footiage of creatures, etc, are pretty lame. There is no suspense or anything to stimulate the imagination.
As far as TCM 4...I agree, it was pretty much god aweful. However, there are plenty omre right out crappy horror films that are worse than that. Take for example, "Komodo" or any of the "Howling" sequels?

Since everyone is stating why they liked Blair Witch Project or why they didn't since I am the first one who said they didn't like it I'd thought I'd say why. It dosen't really matter but just thought I'd say why. It wasn't because it wasn't gory enough or anything like that. I just felt like I was watching a home movie. Now I understand some ppl may like that. But, mainly I couldn't get into the movie. Some movies draw you in others don't. It didn't appeal to me. Now I did like part 2 better. That had some scenes that drew my attention. And I agree TCM 4 did bomb....

I understand what you mean! I know some horrors are better to be suspenseful..I do agree with you about having *TO MUCH* is alot to ruin a horror movie with,Which also has,nt crossed my mind at the moment since you brought it up.. Now that I look at from your point of view" I guess you can say that I am use to seeing So much I guess that grows on you!! I dont actually hate the BLAIR WITCH film I just was so curious about what they have seen!! I didnt actually mean constant showing of creatures,Just more like a example of what they saw would look like like enough to chill the bones type of thing!! Which it still did just hearing the sounds echoing through out the forest and unknown yelling from JOSH I think! I do also like ALFRED HITCHCOCK to...Speaking of older Horror I do miss the old CREATURE FEATURE thing they use to have out! Its been so long since I seen that! I know horror movies come in many ways..I look to much for the creature itself. Speaking TCM the remake" I think they should of saved that for TCM 4!! That really needs it. Did anyone like GHOST SHIP?

Thirteen ghosts was cool the few ghosts I liked in that film was the very tall one who broke that guys back in half and killed him instantly and the one who had his head inside a steel box walking around!! I also liked the move CUBE or the cube something like that !! Where they go in those traps and figuring out puzzles and stuff!! That was a trippy movie!

For my vote, I would have to say Midnight Mass. It had a great ideal and storyline...to a point, but the production, acting and everything else just sucked.

Another movie was Scarecrow Slayer, but I do have to say one thing. The scarecrow itself was Great! It had Tony Todd (The Candyman, for reference) in it, and I believe he was the designer of the Scarecrow (if I'm not mistaken) but it seemed all the money went into just that design...the rest of the movie was like a handheld film it seemed like.

Well anyways, my two cents take them as you will. :D

That's horrible...that is one of my new favorites. Though I am a rather big fan of Rob Zombie and I waited 5 years for this movie to be finished. I have to say that if you didn't like House of 1000 corpses that you must not like some of the similiar genre like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the like?

Anyways, everyone has an opinion but that's mine, take it as you will. I will stand by to say that House of 1000 Corpses was still one of the best I've seen in awhile. :D

I think they were both made around the same time. "Holocaust" is definitely the more interesting movie, even though all the animal killing (which wasn't fake) bothered me a little. The gore in "Holocaust" is way more convincing - not because the effects are so spectacular, but because the effects are better than expected considering how amateurish the rest of the movie is. That native chick impaled on on the pole looked so real I actually wondered if it WAS real. I think I read that the Italian government was so convinced that they made Deodato bring in the actors to prove they weren't actually killed during the movie.

I haven't seen the original "Blair Witch", but I can't imagine that it could compare, as a pseudo-documentary, to "Cannibal Holocaust" I saw a bit of the Blair 2, which was more of a regular movie, not a hand-held camfest. What bugs me about "Blair Witch" is how they promote it as this low budget indie, when in fact the filmmakers had tons of Hollywood hook-ups and all the promotion they could ask for. To me, a movie isn't indie just because it has a small budget - it's an indie if it is independently made and promoted.

Edited to add: Speaking of documentary-style movies (and sort of off topic), anyone here like "Man Bites Dog"? I think that's my favorite pseudo-documentary.

Wyked yeah I have to agree with you on that.... House of 1000 Corpses is one of the better lower budget horror flicks I have seen in awhile. With how much money Zombie used to make it he did a damn great job. No computers or big budget special effects were used. And to name a few horror movies that I think that sucks ass:
Forever Evil
Mind Killer
Flesh Freaks( I dont recommend this movie to anyone, I have seen a lot of horror DVD sites saling it at high prices. and some reviews saying it is a good movie, trust me it SUX)
BlairWitch Project .. this is not horror, just a few college students experimenting with acting...
and many many many more... :D

See that's where you are wrong! I do like TCM, but that is why I didn't care much for House of 1000 Corpses! It was basically a remake with a few slight differences. I am looking forward to part 2, hopefully he'll use his genius to make it more original than the first. Towards the end is where it started getting better and a bit original.

Yeah, growing up did put his career in a slump for a bit, but he did do a few smaller parts here and there. Like in Edward Scissorhands. Most people wouldn't know it was him because of the drastic change in his looks. I think he's great in the Dead Zone Series. Is that still on cable?

Just had to say that i loved the movie cube but was really disappointed with the second one...i only watched 10 min of it and couldn't i just couldn't stomach the rest. The blind chick in the second one got on my nerves too much. "Oh! someone's coming!" But, i dunno, should i give it another chance?

I thought The Ring really sucked.

Also, the Phantasm series is hugely over rated.
