God, Mardi Gras has gotten so stale now. Being a Big 10 college town, you'd expect there to be some frivolity and debauchery til the wee hours of the morning. But noooooo..... We go out drinking and all the girls are just sitting around.... SITTING! We threw beads at em' but they just hit the girls in the face and they got all mad.

"You hit me in the face, fucker!"

So... what'd everybody do for Mardi Gras?

Saw some news reports of the mardi gras in New Orleans. Couldn't fucking believe people were out celebrating when half the city is stilled completely fucked. Apparently they even have tour buses going round the devastated districts! WTF?

Mardi Gras started here in Mobile, AL, but by the time Fat Tuesday rolled around I was Mardi Gras'ed out. I had been out drinking every night for about 3 weeks. so I just went back to work yesterday (Fat Tuesday).

went to school, got bitched at by everyone. hated my life some more, complained about my contacts burning again, feel down 2 flights of stairs and hit my knee on an edge, ran into a door, and almost got killed by an algebra accident... yep... mardi gras is fun on a bun.:o

any lingering coolness/mystique that Mardi Gras had died with the first Girls Gone Wild video. Now, a) anyone can see Mardi Gras and get drunk in their own home, and b) anyone can find out how fucking irritating 99.9_% of the people there are

But if it wasn't for Girls Gone Wild, I would have never known that girls could go wild... or why I haven't seen them going wild before the video?

Yes and No but anyway....

I had fun and everything but it's not the same. I hate to say it but it was actually lame, if I wasn't there with a group of people then it would've been boring. We really didn't even pay attention to all the hoopla, kinda just went off and did our own thing.

It was just something to lift people's spirits a little(not to mention give the economy a little boost), it wasn't even close to how a full length Mardi Gras goes.

As far as touring the ruin areas...well, that I just don't get.

I just masturbated to some porn. That's mostly anything I get out of Mardi Gras. Dumb celebration if you ask me.

I can understand that but it just seemed so half-hearted and false. Admittedly this is based solely on a three minute news report so I dont have a great field of reference. I suppose a part of me was surprised at how little things seemed to have progressed since the hurricane and yet people were partying.

I'm with ya on that, people seemed to be having fun but me personally and the few friends(who are also from NO) that were there weren't feeling it at all. Like I said in my other post, we just went off and did our own thing.

You can tell its a creepy Mardi Gras when Jim Belushi is headin' it up.

That's the best they could do?

We stayed around the Canal Street/Burbon Street area for like an hour then went to the back of the Quarter. Took turns carrying a blazzing radio(no such thing as disturbing the peace on that day. Or just about any other law for that matter.), talking about and doing a bunch of crazy shit. Surprisingly one of the best times I've had at Mardi Gras.

Uh, I think the cast of "Las Vegas" from NBC was there... except for James Caan. Obviously.

Well, then I guess that was the best they could do.
