I'm trying to dig deeper into independent horror cinema. What do you think are the best indie horror films? It can be from anywhere in the world but should be available to rent or buy online somewhere. Self-distribution is OK.

Cheers!

I have'nt really seen alot of Indie movies but even though alot of people don't like it the blair witch project was pretty creepy especially if you're going in the woods afterwards.

i made a 3 second stop motion film of my kid's toy dragon flapping it's wings.

i think that's the best one in the last 20 years.

I still say that, whatever you think of the movie its self, Blair Witch Project is the best marketed movie ever

Dead and Breakfast is the best I've seen recently but in the past 20 years who knows. Anyway DaB has some good comedy, gore, musc... it's just tons of fun. Blair Witch was hyped and marketed in the most inventive way I'd seen. Not since the first War of the Worlds radio broadcast do I think so many people thought that something real was being shown. I'd like to meet that advertising team.

Not too sure about best indie horror, but there is one available on Amazon called Dead Next Door, which was pretty cool, if you're into gore.

Have to agree with Angelakillsluts,Dog Soldiers.Almost nonstop action, lots of tension and the best wearwolf makeup in a long while.

do you really think dog soldiers is indie? i always figured... since the robotic wolves and all, it was pretty elaborate and expensive.

but yes, hands down, dead and breakfast and braindead.
