Whats your budget?
try the Umberto Lenzi method of pasting some oatmeal to your face

We made a pretty effect paste/putty out of flour, water and food coloring. It doesn't stay on very long, especially as your actors sweat, but that only adds to the decaying effect.

here is cheap and easy

first buy some gelitin

take the gelitin powder and add some hot water

mix it together untill it gets gooey

apply that to your face

get a nice coating on there

then get cotton balls and pull them apart

start attaching the the fluff over your face

then you need liquid latex

coat that over the gelitin and cotton

then you need co co powder to blotch over the latex giving it a dark and gritty look

then you need some make up like blacks, reds, and greys

color your face in with that

then the blood

which is 2/3 of corn syrup

some elmers glue

bottle of red food dye

a touch of blue food dye

and a touch of green

giving the corn syrup the blood look

all of these you can buy in your local food store or online

i get my corn syrup at the food store and my dye at the dollar store total price of about 5 dollars

then the latex and gelitin will be about 8 bucks

and the makeup you can find at beauty shops or what not

hope i could help

Top it off by having your actors swish a mixture of blue and green food coloring in their mouths. DON"T SWALLOW IT! Swish and spit. Great nasty teeth to go with the gelatin and gore faces.

You should've mentioned to this guy that he'd need latex before gluing fluff to his face. He probably looks like a dweeb walking to the store about now :D

Oh man, I can just see that.

I looked pretty nerdy buying yard after yard of colorful fur from Joann's today, but it was $2 a yard. Surely I can make some monster out of it!

If you need latex in a hurry and can't find a costume shop, try the local medical supply store and ask for Duo surgical adhesive--it's basically thinned latex, with some other adhesives added. The drugstore also has smaller tubes of Duo eyelash adhesive (get the Clear version!) which is basically the same stuff.

You can smear it on your face and let it dry, then rub the surface of the latex until it breaks, giving you a blistery look; you can then apply fake blood or red makeup inside the blister and it looks all grody and yucky.
