I'm a huge fan of the old British stuff. Who do you think was the better studio of the time, Hammer or Amicus? Hammer definately put out way more than Amicus, but quality wise who's better?

The Carmilla based stuff they did is awesome. And Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell. Yeah, Ingrid Pitt, too. But the lady is no Barbara Steele.

I don't remember Barara Steele doing anything in either of these studios. Barbara was hot as was all the Hammer Glamour Gals and some of the actresses at Amicus but they were no Ingrid Pitt IMO!!!!!!! :)

Yeah, you're right. I haven't seen Barbara Steele in anything from Hammer or Amicus. By the way, does anybody know if there's been a DVD set of the Carmilla stuff? My fiancee and I can't find the stuff in most video stores and I've been dying to show her those movies. The only place I've seen everything from Hammer together was while visiting a friend in DC at one of those places that could be assumed to have everything. I sat there testing the guy for forty minutes and found he'd bought the WHOLE Criterion collection. But, as there are no psychotically anal (and awesome) store managers in central PA, I haven't seen heads or tails of them.
