Marvel comics...

Thus far I've read up to issue #5.
I hadn't followed marvel comics for some time, and saw this title, decided to d/l it to take a look.
As the initial storyboard indicates, apparently, some of the avengers were killed, namely: Vision, Hawkeye and Ant-Man, I've yet to read the back issue comics to figure out HOW, but basically, it ends with the avengers disbanding.

Flash foward
Rikers Maximum security penitentiary, High tech prison and home to some of the baddest, most powerful badguys...
Matt Murdock (aka daredevil) and his assistant Foggy Nelson along with Luke Cage (aka powerman...*shudder*...), are there to talk to a certain superhero with a strange history...reasons as yet unknown.
Turns out this guy "the sentinel" is supposedly one of marvels most powerful superheros, but, see...he killed his wife, and REQUESTED to be put in there...now, I won't spoil it, but he comes into the story a little later.
Ok, so during this "visit" by the two "good guys", escorted by the former Spider-woman and now SHIELD employee Jessica Drew, the lights go off - Courteousy of Electro, who's been sent to break out ONE guy, via MASSIVE lightening bolt.
Problem is, the whole prison becomes unsecure, and a whole helluvalot of badguys get out...of course, a lot of them are enemies of the "good guys" that are in there on their visit.
Big fight starts.
Spider-man and captain america turn up to help, Foggy Nelson locks himself in a room with the alleged "murderer" superhero, begging for him to help his friends, who are literally getting their asses SO kicked unlike ever before, and after one BRUTAL motherfucker of a fight, the sentinel steps in, everyone teams up, and the fight ends.
45 high-powered supervillains contained, 42 escaped.

So, after their initial team-up, Cap goes on a kinda recruitment drive for a new avengers, deciding there's gonna be a major supercriminal threat, and, the current lineup is:
Spiderman
Captain America
Iron-Man (their funding)
(Daredevil said no, thus far)
The original spider-woman
(the sentinel is still in SHIELD custody)
CAGE
and WOLVERINE, yes, wolverine.

No doubt the roster will grow by a few...

So yeah...this one's definately worth a read IMO. It's harder, darker and grittier than ANY former incarnations of the avengers.
VERY violent, and funny to boot.
GREAT storyline goin' on.
Excellent art.

Have a look...again, if you can't get the back issues, hit up soulseek.
